Coaching is a collaborative relationship between a client and coach, who work together to identify goals and develop an action plan to attain desired results. The goal of coaching is to support the client in living a fulfilling life, while holding the client accountable for taking the actions necessary to reach identified objectives. Together the client and coach examine hopes and dreams for the future and map out a path for the journey. By tapping into individual strengths, coaching helps people develop self empowerment to actualize their deepest vision of who they are.
Coaching is not the same as psychotherapy. The focus is on personal and professional growth, not on emotional issues or psychiatric problems.
Coaching is not consulting. The client is the expert in his/her own life. Coaches provide support and accountability, not advice.
